Etch-A-Name on Killian:

This concept for the put your name on Killian kiosk, uses a 2-axis plotter to etch a name into a replica of the building surrounding Killian. The blanks would be made of a plastic or other easily machined material. The user would input their name using the keyboard input and check the preview on a small LCD screen. The screen could also guide the user through the process. The GO button would start the process of etching. The machine is intended to evoke the CNC machining and other manufacturing techniques pioneered by MIT. The screen or other informational material could display information and trivia about these advances as the etcher produces the replica building. The final product could be framed or displayed in other ways by the user.
