Gramophone

The gramophone is an important part of Victorian era parlors and is well known as one of the best analog music playing devices. I imagine retrofitting an older gramophone to serve our purposes rather than building one from scratch. Done well, it can help set the mood of the room.

Storyboard I has the gramophone handle falling out and primes the adventurers to place it back in. This handle could be spring loaded to help do that. Additionally, our clues suggest rotating the handle a certain amount, in either direction, in some sequence. Encoders can provide high accuracy degree measurement and can be used to see if the pattern entered is correct.

Busts and Globe

This puzzle is in Storyboard II. I imagine two busts in the room, that would look something like this. The most important part is the bottom frame and symbols, where you can see a triangle, square, and circle. The puzzle on the bust side of the room would be to line up the same characters on both busts. I imagine using a network between the two busts and the globe to check if these two characters are lined up.

If the busts are lined up, the corresponding shape number will light up on the globe! Then, the adventurers on this side of the room have to realize that they have to spin the globe to find the enlightened numbers. The first number given can be relatively easy to spot. The two sides will have to work together to deduce that the symbols on the busts correspond to a number on the globe. Then, they have to input that data set into the electrical switchboard, which will conspicuously have circles, squares, triangles, and a rotary dial on it.

Revolving Door

The revolving door, in Storyboard II, is a new gag to separate the tema and have them work together. We want to do this so more people can be engaged in the puzzle solving process and have complementary experiences.

The door would be antique looking with metal flares at the end of the doors. However, the embedded electromagnets in the casing would cause the door to stop, what would appear to be all of a sudden and magically! I think that the door stopping due to an unseeble force provides more mystery than a mechanical stop.
