Preparation

This recitation will focus on this year's design project. Because there are now two DPs, we may ask you for this recitation only to attend a different instructor's section than you normally do, so that you can get instruction on the DP you've chosen. We will make an announcement about that Wednesday, on Piazza.

Because the alt DP spec won't be out until Wednesday morning, you do not need to read the DP spec before this recitation (even if you're doing the original DP). If you have a chance to read it, feel free. But we will run the recitation assuming that you have not.

If you do read the spec, don't worry if you don't understand absolutely everything in it at this point; we've built this recitation, as well as the first DP deliverable, to help with that.

Before you come to this recitation, you'll turn in a brief answer to the following questions (really—we don't need more than a sentence or so for each question). Your TA will be in touch about exactly how to turn that in.

• What types of challenges do you expect to come up while completing this (team-based) design project?
• How will you address those challenges?
• Why do we design large systems in teams?
