MIT is an exciting and vibrant place to be: a place made richer by the presence of our international students. There are over 60 international student clubs that provide social and cultural activities for members. Some clubs may even attempt to contact you before you arrive at MIT in order to facilitate your travel.
Spouses&Partners@MIT, sponsored by the Medical Department, is open to spouses of MIT students, staff and visiting scientists. The group provides social and educational opportunities for MIT spouses such as book discussion groups, speaker series, craft and international cooking groups, neighborhood support groups, and job and volunteer opportunity listings. Spouses&Partners@MIT also offers a Language Conversation Exchange that finds conversation partners for those interested in practicing a language with a native speaker. The MIT Women’s League also offers more structured English conversation classes, at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels for international women.
