Analysis

Both components are analyzed separately: (1) Posting the Advertisements and (2) Viewing the Advertisements.

Analysis 1: Posting Advertisements

Survey Results (8 students and personal experience):

  1. Entire postering process takes about an hour for frequent (experienced) posters. The maximum time was 2.5 hours. All 8 students surveyed stated that they felt it was too much time to waste on such a "mindless" activity.

  2.
  3. Finding a place on the bulletin boards is often frustrating.

  4.
  5. Repeated ads continuously cover all the popular boards, and many of the ads do not have dates or organization names. The fine (see the "Background" section) implementation is highly doubted, and the rules are taken lightly.

  6.
  7. The postering process overall was found to be both frustrating and very inefficient.

  8.
  9. The minimal, high impact route (shown in red below) is 0.4 miles long. [1] Note: This route is on the ground floor only. You are therefore walking at least a mile (roundtrip, plus travel to and from) per postering session.
