The goal of Pilates (based on the work of Joseph Pilates) is to strengthen and lengthen the body. The focus of the work is on the core muscles of the body, namely the abdomen and back. Pilates is a mind/body discipline that also emphasizes breath, mindful awareness, and healthy posture and alignment. This is a beginner level mat class; all interested are welcome to attend. Led by Hadassah Segal.
