While regulations can be implemented to improve strategic element usage, such proposals generally have limited effectiveness without public support. Unfortunately, the management of strategic elements is often neglected in favor of more controversial issues. It is critical that the public begin pushing for a change in the usage of strategic elements before supplies begin to run out. While public awareness alone will not solve the problem of limited strategic resources, public opinion can greatly influence governments and corporations by encouraging them to follow responsible practices. Therefore, public awareness is a key component of the Mission 2016 solution.
