Fall 1998: Sections A & B

Exams


There will be two midterm exams and a final exam (closed books). These will test the students' command of the material (written and oral) and will consist of a number of problems similar to the Practice Problems and Problem Sets (except the Mini Cases).

Midterm 1 will be worth 23%, Midterm 2 will be worth 23%, and the Final Exam will be worth 46%. Solutions to the exams will be posted on the web AFTER they have been graded.


MIDTERM 1
When:
Section A: Thursday, October 8, from 8:00 AM- 10:00 AM
Section B: Wednesday, October 7, from 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM
Where: Top floor of Walker Memorial
Material to be Covered on the Exam: Topics 1 to Topic 4 (inclusive).
Rules: This exam will count for 23% of your course grade. No books are allowed. Each student can bring one double sided, 8 1/2" x 11" sheet written "reasonably large". Students must bring a calculator.

Midterm 1 will be graded by Thursday, October 15th and will be available from Melissa Cunniffe, E52-430, beginning at 12:00 noon. You must have handed in your 4x6 information card in order to receive your grade.

MIDTERM 2
When:
Section A: Tuesday, November 10, from 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM
Section B: Monday, November 9, from 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM
Where: Top floor of Walker Memorial
Material to be Covered on the Exam: Topics 6, 7, 8, 10, 11
Topics NOT covered in Midterm 2 are all others (including Topic 5, 9 and 12)
Rules: This exam will count for 23% of your course grade. No books are allowed. Each student can bring one double sided, 8 1/2" x 11" sheet written "reasonably large". Students must bring a calculator.

FINAL EXAM
When:
MONDAY, DECEMBER 14th from 1:30 PM - 4:30 PM.
Where: DuPont (NOTE: This is different than what is mentioned on the MIT final exam schedule).
Material to be Covered on the Final Exam: All Topics EXCEPT: 9, 13, 14, 19
Rules: The final exam will count for 46% of your course grade. No books are allowed. Each student can bring THREE double sided, 8 1/2" x 11" sheets written "reasonably large". Students must bring a calculator.
