Welcome to Let's Get Kraken!

When designing this room, we had several goals we wanted to achieve. First and foremost, we wanted everyone to have fun. We wanted people to forget where they were and just get fully immersed in the room. And finally, we wanted a hands on experience where everyone on the team would have to get their hands a little dirty. With these goals in mind, we spent the past couple of months brainstorming themes, gags, puzzles, and experiences. With Let's Get Kraken, we believe we've achieved our goals in creating an experience that is unforgettable. From the cannon to having to maneuver the balls on your hands and knees, Let's Get Kraken is one where you'll want to keep coming back!

the room

As you can see in the scale model at the top of the page, we've covered the inside walls with a swirly wall paper to create an ocean effect. Not pictured are the outside walls that are covered in the same wallpaper so that guests can get a sense of the theme prior to entering the room.

You'll need:
- 4x corner panels
- 2x door panels
- 2x 2ft panels
- 8x 4ft panels
- 2x 6ft headers
- 4x 8ft headers
- 4x inside corners
- 7ft by 10ft piece of acrylic
- netting
- foam padding for the floor

next steps

We brainstormed a number of other ideas to make the room more challenging and engaging. To make the ball retrieval and cannon reloading more difficult, there is an opportunity to add obstacles to the floor so that guests would have to climb over objects to maneuver the balls into the cannon. To allow for more players to interact with the cannon, we toyed with the idea of including two cannons, to make it more of a competition to see who can hit more targets. One person can play the role of Poseiden and the other Zeus. To make it more difficult to shoot the targets, we imagined waving tentacles coming out of the walls to block the targets and make it harder to see.
