One complaint that many users had was the sparsity of printers. Especially for color printers, of which there are only two on campus, users suggested that additional locations be added. Several other users mentioned having trouble finding the printers, and I suggest that a page be added to the MIT app, so that students can find them on a map of campus. It is possible that complaints about the lack of printers are simply due to them being hard to find, so this simpler solution could help to address the first complaint as well.
One big improvement would involve logging in to the user's personal print queue. The current system, a card swiper, isn't reliable enough for users. The easy solution with no hardware overhaul would be to simply add a login screen where the user can input their ID number. This solves the issue of the user forgetting their card, and the issue of the card-reading hardware malfunctioning.
The other interface problem area, the touchscreen could be either a software issue or a hardware issue. It's possible that the sensitivity of the screens could simply be turned up, and they would be more responsive to attempted button presses. This could also be a limit of the current hardware, in which case I would suggest swapping it out for a screen with mechanical buttons, as these are more reliable and could easily cover the system's functionality with just 5 buttons (4 navigation and 1 selection).
