6.02 Announcements

Week of December 15, 2014

  • Quiz 3 is December 17th, 1:30-3:30pm, in Dupont. It covers the networking part of the course, but there will be no explicit questions about congestion control (thus, it covers lectures 18-23).

  • We are holding lab hours this week in preparation for the final; check the lab hours page for these. Also check Piazza in case we need to make any location changes.

  • Remember that all checkoffs need to be completed in order to pass 6.02. If you have any psets that you have not been checked off for, email your TA ASAP. Checkoffs should be finished this week unless you have extenuating circumstances (in which case email a staff member).

  • All psets have been graded. If you have any discrepancies about a pset grade, email Katrina by Tuesday.

  • This week's to-do list:
    • W: Quiz 3, 1:30pm-3:30pm, Dupont

Week of December 8, 2014

  • Quiz 3 is December 17th, 1:30-3:30pm, in Dupont. It covers the networking part of the course, but there will be no explicit questions about congestion control (thus, it covers lectures 18-23). Monday and Wednesday's lectures will give additional context for the quiz material, so although these lectures will not be explicitly tested on Quiz 3, we expect you to attend both.

  • Remember that all checkoffs need to be completed in order to pass 6.02. If you have any psets that you have not been checked off for, email your TA ASAP. Checkoffs should be finished this week unless you have extenuating circumstances (in which case email a staff member).

  • Since the last day of classes is Wednesday, 12/10, there is no recitation on Thursday.

  • This week's to-do list:
    • M/W: Lecture in 34-101 at 2pm.
    • Tu: Recitation
    • Th: No recitation

Week of December 1, 2014

  • Problem set 9—the last problem set!— is due December 5th at 11:45pm. This is a Friday, not a Thursday, to give you an extra day to recover from Thanksgiving. However, our lab closes at 5:15pm on Friday; we will not hold lab hours Friday evening.

  • Remember that all checkoffs need to be completed in order to pass 6.02. If you have any psets that you have not been checked off for, email your TA ASAP.

  • This week's to-do list:
    • M/W: Lecture in 34-101 at 2pm.
    • Tu/Th: Recitation
    • F: PS9 due

Week of November 24, 2014

  • Problem set 8 is due November 26th at 11:45pm. We will hold a few lab hours on Wednesday, but not as many as usual due to the holiday. These lab hours will be in the Athena cluster in the basement of Building 32, because our normal lab space will be closed.

  • Lecture on Wednesday and recitation on Thursday are both canceled for Thanksgiving!

  • This week's to-do list:
    • M: Lecture in 34-101 at 2pm.
    • Tu: PS9 released

Week of November 17, 2014

  • Problem set 7 is due November 20th at 11:45pm. PS7 covers material on MAC protocols. Because of Thanksgiving, PS8 will be due a bit earlier than usual, so the sooner you complete PS7, the better.

  • To that end, Problem set 8 is due November 26th at 11:45pm. Note that the lecture that day is canceled for Thanksgiving, but we will hold lab hours.

  • Quiz 2 grades will be available on Monday night or Tuesday morning of this week.

  • This week's to-do list:

  • Problem set 6 is due November 6th at 11:45pm. PS6 is a bit more involved than PS4 and PS5. It also involves using the audio channel, which works best in a quiet environment. History suggests that the lab on 11/6 will not be a quiet environment, so hopefully you got started early!

  • You should all have received your grades for Quiz 1 by now. If you do not know how to access them, please email the course staff.

  • Historically, students have found the current part of the course to be more challenging than the first part. To that end, please make sure you are attending lectures and recitations; they are a much better way to learn the course material than wading through the course notes on your own.
