For Students

Orientation Sessions

All international students are required by immigration law to go through an immigration orientation session with the ISO upon arrival to MIT. During this immigration session, an ISO advisor will discuss immigration documents, how to maintain legal status, employment in the US, travel, and other miscellaneous important information.

MIT students will not be able to complete enrollment registration for your term until you have attended an ISO Orientation Session. Students may wish to schedule the earliest ISO Orientation Session available after your arrival to MIT. New students - Please see the ISO letter that was included with your immigration document (Form I-20 or Form DS-2019) for more details.

All incoming MIT international students must also complete the Online Check-In forms  AFTER you arrive in the U.S. This is required, so you will not be able to request your MIT ID card or complete enrollment registration for your term until you have completed the Online Check-In.

New International Undergraduate Students have a mandatory ISO Immigration Orientation scheduled for Tuesday, August 22. Please do NOT sign up for a session on iMIT.
