Defending Tradition
Many of the unique traditions that give MIT its character are being threatened. We’ll preserve hacking, REX, and Fraternity Rush by establishing a Committee on Institute Communication (CIC). The CIC will investigate proposed administrative changes and bring them to your attention before any final decisions are made.
Advancing Change
There are many problems that the UA needs to solve – some new, some old. Now is the time to get things done. We’ll make improvements to academic policies, dorms, FSILGs, dining options, and internal accountability. Here are just a few of our ideas:
(1) Cheaper Textbooks
(2) Career Fair Holiday
(3) Proxy Card Readers
(4) Fraternity-Police Dinner Fund
(5) Harvard Bridge Express Shuttle
(6) Expanding TechCash
Restoring Communication
Current levels of communication with undergraduates are unacceptable. Rather than talk amongst ourselves in back rooms of the Student Center, we’re going to reach out and allow you to communicate with us by having weekly town hall meetings, holding regular office hours, responding to all e-mails within 24 hours, placing suggestion boxes in all dorms and the Student Center, distributing monthly newsletters, and establishing a council to coordinate the activities of the numerous student governments.
