Admissions

MIT is hosting 10 undergraduates and 15 graduate students as special visiting students for the fall term. Two of the undergraduates come from the University of New Orleans, one from Xavier University, one from Loyola and six from Tulane.

MIT is waiving tuition and fees for these visiting students, and providing housing in undergraduate and graduate student residences, in addition to the fraternities, sororities and independent living groups. There is no housing charge to the visiting student.

Meals, books, supplies, personal, and travel expenses are the responsibility of the visiting students.

MIT OpenCourseWare

Those students displaced by the hurricane who are not able to enroll temporarily in another college or university may wish to use MIT's OpenCourseWare - a free on-line publication of the materials for over 1,100 MIT courses. OCW does not require any registration. Everyone using OpenCourseWare should be aware that it is not a degree-granting or credit-granting activity. It may, however, help students keep up with some of their studies on their own.
