In this course we discuss various topics in Chinese syntax. Topics to be covered include clefts, focus structures, wh-indeterminates, as well as gapping, VP/NP ellipsis, and sluicing. Some discussions will draw data from different dialects in Chinese as well as other languages such as English and Japanese.
