Wei Hao was born and raised in Singapore, receiving his B.A. in chemistry at the Johns Hopkins University working on synthetic methods for targeted fluorination with Prof. Thomas Lectka. Before MIT, Wei Hao explored the world of molecular biology with Prof. Huili Guo at IMCB, Singapore. He enjoys badminton, food trucks and travel/camping shows. Wei Hao works in the S100s subgroup.

Rachel grew up near Seattle, WA, and received her B.S. in Biological Chemistry from Carnegie Mellon University, where she worked in Prof. Stefan Bernhard’s group using high-throughput screening to investigate photocatalytic water reduction. Rachel works in the siderophores subgroup. Other than chemistry, Rachel enjoys singing, dancing, and playing French horn in band!

Ghazal (Hazel) Kamyabi (Second Year)

Ghazal (Hazel) was born and raised in Iran. She transferred from San Diego Community College to University of California, Berkeley where she received her B.A. in Chemistry. At Berkeley, she worked in the laboratory of Professor Don Tilley and developed methods for synthesizing organic cage molecules. Ghazal joined the Nolan lab in 2022 and works in the siderophores subgroup. During her free time, she enjoys cooking, drawing and knitting.

Erica grew up in Seattle, WA, and received her B.A. from Cornell University, where she double majored in Chemistry and Biological Sciences. While at Cornell, Erica worked in Prof. Shaoyi Jiang’s group developing and characterizing zwitterionic lipids and their performance in lipid nanoparticles for mRNA delivery. Outside of the lab, Erica enjoys skiing, reading, and playing puzzle games (especially Sudoku). Erica works in the S100s subgroup.
