The O.R.C.A. TeamWho We Are Project ORCA is an MIT studentgroup interested in Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) technology. Our main activity is constructing entries for the annual AUVcompetition. This competition, organized by Association for UnmannedVehicle Systems International (AUVSI) and the Office of Naval Research(ONR), is designed to ... advance the state-of-the-art of AUVs bychallenging a new generation of engineers to perform realisticmissions in the remote underwater environment. MIT won first place in the 1998, 1999, 2001, 2002, and 2004competitions, came in second place in the 2000 competition, and fourthplace in the 2003 competition.
