Seminar on
Modern Optics and Spectroscopy
Don Eigler, MIT
"The quest for Spin Cascade Logic Circuits"
March 25, 2008
12:00 noon - 1:00 p.m. Grier Room 34-401
Abstract:
Can we design, build and operate nanometer-scale logic circuits that
perform conventional binary computation using only the spin degree of
freedom? I will review progress towards this goal, highlighting the
development of spin excitation spectroscopy to measure g-values, exchange energies, anisotropy energies and spin configurations of assemblies of magnetic atoms on surfaces.
TUESDAYS, 12:00-1:00, GRIER ROOM (34-401)
