student : MEMBERSHIP
Become a member today! You DON'T have to be an engineering major, a science major, or even a woman! Wow.

Seriously, anyone can join SWE, and meet some fun and interesting people. We hold many professional, social, and community activities throughout the year.

How do you join?

  1. Stop by our office door and pick up an application from the envelope outside. (student center 4th floor, W20-447)
  2. Fill it out. Put in $15 worth of dues. It's worth it! If you write a check, please make it payable to MIT Society of Women Engineers.
  3. Slip the whole thing back under our door. That's it.
What you get for that $15:
(we only keep $3, the rest goes to National)
  • membership to MITSWE and the National SWE for one year
  • free admittance to the SWE career fair banquet (last year's price tag for non-members was $55!!)
  • your resume in our special MITSWE resume book, which is in demand by many companies
  • scholarship/job information through our meetings, newsletter, and email list (and don't forget this webpage!)
  • free food!
  • faculty/student socials, recruiter/student socials, plant tours, workshops, speakers, community activities, socials with other SWE student chapters ... and MORE
Any more questions? Please contact our Vice Presidents, who handle membership matters, Jen Huang j_huang@mit.edu or Julia Le juls@mit.edu.
