To be eligible for a SWE scholarship, an applicant must be a woman engineering or computer science student enrolled in an ABET-accredited university. Students applying for sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate scholarships must maintain a minimum 3.5/4.0 grade point average. 
The application deadline for sophomore, junior, senior, and graduate scholarships is February 1. The application for freshman and re-entry scholarships is May 15

SWE endowed scholarships:

The Admiral Grace Murray Hopper Memorial Scholarships were established in 1992 in memory of the "mother of computerized data automation in the naval service." Three $1,000 scholarships are awarded to female freshmen entering the study of engineering or computer science. 
The Anne Maureen Whitney Barrow Memorial Scholarship was established in 1992 to honor SWE member, computer scientist, and race car driver Anne Marueen Whitney Barrow. The award of approximately $5,000 annually is presented to an undergraduate woman entering engineering or engineering technology and is renewable yearly until completion of the undergraduate degree.

The General Electric Foundation Scholarships were established in 1975 to honor outstanding women engineering students. Three $1,000 awards are presented each year and are renewable for three years upon evidence of continued academic achievement. In addition, the General Electric Foundation provides a $500 travel grant for each recipient to attend the SWE National Convention and Student Conference. 
The Westinghouse/Bertha Lamme Scholarships were established in 1973 in honor of the first woman engineer employed at Westinghouse. The three $1,000 awards were instituted to attract women to the field of engineering and are supported by the Westinghouse Educational Foundation.

SWE endowed scholarships:

The Lillian Moller Gilbreth Scholarship is the Society's oldest scholarship, established in 1958 in honor of Dr. Gilbreth, who made many contributions to the fields of industrial engineering and management. The $5,000 award is presented to a junior or senior engineering student of outstanding potential and acheivement. 
The MASWE Memorial Scholarships were established by the Men's Auxiliary of the Society of Women Engineers in 1971 and have been augmented significantly in recent years through donations from the Tremont Trust in memory of Winifred White, SWE's first Executive Director. Two $2,000 awards are presented to sophomore, junior or senior students who demonstrate outstanding scholarship and financial need. 
The Ivy Parker Memorial Scholarship was founded in 1986 in honor of the past chair of the SWE Board of Trustees. The $2,000 scholarship is presented to a woman engineering student in her junior or senior year with a demonstrated need of financial assistance. 
The Judith Resnik Memorial Scholarship was established in 1988 in memory of the astronaut and active SWE member who lost her life aboard the space shuttle Challenger. The $2,000 award is presented to an active SWE member in her senior year as an aerospace, aeronautical, or astronautical engineering major. 
The Dorothy Lemke Howarth Scholarships, established in 1991, are awarded to sophomore students majoring in engineering. Three $2,000 awards are presented. The scholarship recipients are limited to U.S. citizens.

The Amoco Scholarships, established in 1990, are two $1,000 scholarships awarded to junior chemical or mechanical engineering students. 
The Central Intelligence Agency Scholarship, first awarded in 1992, is presented to an entering sophomore student majoring in electrical engineering or computer science. It is restricted to a U.S. citizen. 
The Chevron Scholarships, established in 1992, are two $2,000 awards presented to one sophomore and one junior student in civil, chemical, or petroleum engineering. 
The General Motors Foundation Scholarships were established in 1991. They are presented to students entering their junior year with a declared major in one of the following disciplines: mechanical, electrical, chemical, industrial, materials, automotive, or manufacturing engineering or engineering technology. Winners must demonstrate leadership by holding a position of responsibility in a student organization, and exhibit career interest in the automotive industry or manufacturing environment. The two $1,000 scholarships are renewable for the senior year. 
The General Motors Foundation Graduate Scholarship, established in 1991, is awarded to an entering first-year master level student with a declared major in one of the following disciplines: mechanical, electrical, chemical, industrial, materials, automotive, or manufacturing engineering or engineering technology. Winners must demonstrate leadership by holding a position of responsibility in a student organization, and exhibit career interest in the automotive industry or manufacturing environment. 
The GTE Foundation Scholarships are being awarded for the first time this year. Nine $1,000 scholarships are awarded to sophomore, junior, senior, or entering first-year graduate students majoring in engineering or computer science. 
The Hewlett-Packard Scholarships were first awarded in 1990. Seven $1,000 scholarships are awarded to juniors and seniors in good standing in accredited electrical engineering or computer science programs. Recipients of these awards must be active SWE student members. 
The Lockheed Advanced Development Company Scholarship was first awarded in 1993. This $1,000 scholarship is presented to a student majoring in electrical, mechanical, computer, aerospace, or materials science engineering. 
The Lockheed-Martin Scholarship is awarded for the first time this year. This $2,000 scholarship is presented to a junior majoring in electrical or mechanical engineering. 
The Microsoft Corporation Scholarships were awarded for the first time in 1994. These ten $1,000 awards are presented to rising sophomores, juniors, or seniors, or to entering graduate students who are majoring in computer engineering or computer science. 
The Northrop Corporation Founders Scholarship was first awarded in 1983 as an encouragemnet to students pursuing engineering degrees. The $1,000 award is presented to an entiering sophomore who is a current SWE student member and is a U.S. citizen. 
The Rockwell International Corporation Scholarships were awarded for the first time in 1991. These two $3,000 scholarships are awarded to women engineering students in their junior year in an electronics or aerospace related discipline. They must have demonstrated financial need and leadership ability. 
The David Sarnoff Research Center Scholarship was established in 1989. This $1,500 award is presented to a junior woman engineering student. The recipient must be a U.S. citizen. 
The Texaco Foundation Scholarships are two scholarships for SWE engineering and are ranked in their junior year in chemical or mechanical engineering and are ranked in the top 20 percent of their class. The $2,000 scholarships are renewable with continued academic achievement. Recipients must be U.S. citizens or authorized to work in the U.S. A $500 travel grant is also provided for the recipients to attend the SWE National Convention and Student Conference. 
The United Technologies Corporation Scholarships were founded in 1977 to encourage women engineering students to continue their education. Two $1,000 awards are presented each year and are renewable for two years with continued academic achievement. The recipients must be U.S. citizens entering their sophomore year.

SWE endowed scholarships:

The Olive Lynn Salembier Scholarship was established in 1978 in honor of the late SWE president. The scholarship was established to aid women in obtaining the credentials necessary to reenter the engineering job market. This $2,000 scholarship is restricted to women who have neither been practicing engineering within the past two years nor been enrolled in an engineering program or other college program within the past two years.
