Plan of the Wave Nursery
A
The whips are planted in concentric circles, spaced 6 feet apart, that emanate out.
They are planted 4 feet, on center, along the line of each concentric wave. The suggested species are:

Ginkgo biloba (Maidenhair Tree)
Prunus serrulata cv. Kwanzan (Kwanzan Cherry)
Robinia pseudoacacia (Black Locust)
Quercus robur (English Oak)
Saphora japonica (Japanese Pagoda Tree)
Umlus parvifolia (Chinese Elm)
Cornus kousa (Korean Dogwood)
Acer rubrum (Red Maple)

The choice of suggested species is based on their adaptability to urban conditions, hardiness, growth rate, and fall colour. Each wave or ring of the nursery will be of a different species, creating a rippling effect from above, as can be seen from the apartment buildings directly across the street. The trees will emanate out across the nursery, and neighborhood, in waves of texture and colour.
