WTP Calendar

The Mechanical Engineering track of WTP will be an in person day program for summer 2023, requiring students to commute to MIT each day. Housing will not be provided. The program will be completely FREE - there is no cost to apply or attend.

There will be no EECS track of WTP in 2023

Projected Key Dates for WTP 2023:

January 15   Deadline to submit WTP SlideRoom Application. We do not accept any additional applications after this date. WTP application reviews begin after the entire applicant pool has submitted their applications and continue until decisions are released in April. Note that WTP does not have rolling admissions.
     
January 22  

Submission date for Teacher References -- this is an online Evaluation Form from one Math Teacher and one Science Teacher, NOT a letter of recommendation.

Please ask your teachers to complete their forms by this date (later submissions will be accepted until March 1, but they delay your application decision process).

     

late April

 

Admissons notifications were sent on April 25   to applicants' email addresses. Check your spam folder if you do not see the message in your inbox. If you cannot find the email, please email wtp@mit.edu.    We have a waitlist from the existing applicant pool.

     

early May  

 

Admitted applicants must confirm that they will attend WTP 2023 and provide by May 14 the local address at whcih they  will reside at during the program  

Admitted students who do not live within daily commuting distance of MIT must arrange their own housing for the duration of the program. WTP is unable provide any financial or logistical support for this process.       

     
June 24 - 25  

WTP summer session begins with weekend Orientation activities at MIT.  Students will have required activities at MIT on weekdays, including some evenings and weekend activities, for the four weeks WTP is in session. They should not have any other significant time commitments during that time.

Daily classes will occur Mon - Fri from approximatly 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM, with occasional evening hours (dinner included). We are planning some weekend academic field trips and social outings.  

Financial assistance with daily public transportation commuting costs to MIT may be offered to admitted students if these expenses constitute a hardship for their family. WTP cannot provide any financial assistance for local housing costs.
