Annie also comes in and makes the family circle complete. Norman comes in after having put away the dishes. Annie is left alone with Norman and kisses him. Sarah returns and breaks them up. Ruth hears the commotion and sends the women upstairs leaving Ruth and Norman alone. Norman kisses and makes up to Ruth and they end up sleeping on the brown rug.

The next morning Reg comes in and finds the two sprawled out on the Living Room floor. Meanwhile Annie is preparing breakfast in the Dining Room.
