The Practical Planning Guide

The Practical Planning Guide for New Graduate Students 2010 answers general questions related to enrollment. This page offers information on financial planning, housing, medical care, and other issues important to new graduate students.

MLOG Orientation

The start date for all students in the MLOG Class of 2011 is August 16, 2010, although we recommend you arrive on campus as early as August 12. The earlier start will give our international students time to settle in and complete the necessary paperwork needed for a smooth transition into life at MIT.

The three-week orientation period does not allow much free time to take care of paperwork, errands, and other demands that arise when moving to a new city.

As an incoming MIT graduate student, you have many decisions to make and forms to fill out. Below is a list and short description of the forms you’ll need to complete, links to download those forms, and email addresses and websites that can help you along the way.
