Synchronous Platform

Video conferencing solutions and applications have created a synchronous learning environment in SMA which supports live interaction between students and faculty members. Such video conference facilities allow dual screen projections, each consisting of a video screen and a computer screen. Such a setup allows students to see the instructor on the video screen, while simultaneously viewing instructional materials such as PowerPoint slides, animations and simulations on the computer screen.

SMA also taps on MIT’s course management system Stellar for asynchronous delivery. This enables faculty members to build and organise course content easily on the web, and also allows students to retrieve materials wherever they are, at their own time. The system provides students with a rich set of features that includes the reviewing of class materials, videos and discussion forums.
