Research Themes
The Program involves a core team of faculty and PhD students focusing on five themes. Presented below are brief descriptions of each of the five principal themes of the current research: safety and security; industry structure and competition; labor relations; infrastructure; and alternative business models. These themes have been selected on the basis of three criteria. They:
- Address fundamental issues in the industry
- Constitute promising areas for graduate student research
- Contribute to an integrative, interdisciplinary view of the central puzzle in the industry today: the development of alternative paradigms or “business models” as they relate to planning, operations, and marketing in a restructured airline industry.
The following are links to the various themes:
- Safety and Security
- Industry Structure and Competition
- Labor Relations & Human Resources
- Infrastructure
- Alternative Business Models
