System RequirementsThe minimal requirements for running MODEL.LA are:
Of course, as the complexity of your models increase, processor speed and memory requirements increase accordingly. For complex models, the MODEL.LA developers recommend at least:
Virtual Materials Property PackageMODEL.LA requires a licensed installation of EOS++/Activity++ thermodynamic and physical property component software from Virtual Materials Group, Inc. (VMG). The directory where SeaPkg.dll is installed must be included in the Windows System Path. For academic users, installation files for the necessary VMG thermodynamic property component software are provided on the MODEL.LA installation CD-ROM. Installation of the VMG Property Package should begin automatically after the MODEL.LA installation completes. After installation of the VMG Property Package, a software key license must be obtained from Virtual Materials Group. Follow the instructions for obtaining a license key from VMG. The developers of MODEL.LA thank Virtual Materials Group for making their industrial strength thermodynamic and physical property software components available to academic users of MODEL.LA at nominal cost. gPROMS (optional)For the solution of models that result in partial differential algebraic equations (PDAEs) or discontinuous differential algebraic equations (DAEs with discontinuities), a licensed installation of gPROMS from Process Systems Enterprise, Ltd. is required. The directory where gproms.exe is installed must be included in the Windows System Path. Microsoft Excel (optional)For graphical display of results from the solution of spatially distributed PDAE models, Microsoft Excel 95 or 97 is required. Otherwise, the results of PDAE models are shown in tabular format only.
