Chandrika is currently enrolled as a full time Sloan Fellow and will graduate in June’07. He has received my MBA from the Indian Institute of Management and his degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology.
His background is an amalgamation of business and technical pursuits. Earlier in his career he performed sales and marketing functions that afforded him an exposure to institutional sales and distribution channel management. Thereafter, he moved to the logistics operations area and added to this experience with a stint in implementing enterprise-wide resource planning IT systems (SAP R/3 Sales and Distribution module). Most recently, he was a Region Head for healthcare ERP systems with Siemens in India and his role included business and project management of mainly large, turnkey Government contracts. He successfully established public-private partnerships that resulted in introduction of cutting-edge healthcare technologies for the benefit of the underprivileged poor. In the past he has also worked with companies like General Electric and Whirlpool.
He has been involved in founding a family start-up in the railways transportation domain. They implement/consult for several infrastructure projects mostly for the Government of India and also other Asian/Middle Eastern countries.
Chandrika's goal for this course is to gain exposure in starting hi-tech ventures in the developed economic and market environment of the United States which will complement the skills he has gained in a career that has been mostly in India.
