Energy Storage

Energy Storage Association (ESA)

The Energy Storage Association (ESA) is the leading voice for companies that develop and deploy the multitude of energy storage technologies.

Solar Energy

Solid-State Solar Thermal Energy Conversion Center (S3TEC)

The S3TEC Center aims at advancing fundamental science and developing materials to harness heat from the sun and convert this heat into electricity via thermoelectric, thermogalvanic and thermophotovoltaic technologies.

SolarReserve is a leading global developer of utility-scale solar power projects, which include electricity generation by solar thermal energy and photovoltaic panels.

Water

Center for Clean Water and Clean Energy (CCWCE)

Center for Clean Water and Clean Energy (CCWCE) is located in the department of Mechanical Engineering at MIT. The Center is focused on high impact collaborations in technology and science for clean water and clean energy.

Startups

THE ENGINE

The Engine offers comprehensive support for entrepreneurs committed to societal impact through scientific and technological breakthroughs.

Knoxville Entrepreneur Center is a business accelerator built to serve as the front door for entrepreneurs in East Tennessee.

Research Funding

NSF

The National Science Foundation (NSF) is an independent federal agency created by Congress in 1950 " to promote the progress of science; to advance the national health, prosperity, and welfare; to secure the national defense ".

The mission of the Department Of Energy (DOE) is to ensure America’s security and prosperity by addressing its energy, environmental and nuclear challenges through transformative science and technology solutions.

As an executive branch agency within the Department of Defense, the Office of Naval Research (ONR) supports the President's budget.

The Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) advances high-potential, high-impact energy technologies that are too early for private-sector investment. ARPA-E awardees are unique because they are developing entirely new ways to generate, store, and use energy.

Founded more than 55 years ago by Bill and Vieve Gore; has more than 10,000 employees, called Associates, with manufacturing facilities in the United States, Germany, United Kingdom, Japan and China, and sales offices around the world.

The foundation awards the majority of its grants to U.S. 501(c)(3) organizations and other tax-exempt organizations.
