Concept Refinement
After discussing about the potential customers and the feasibility of all the concepts we have, we decided to go for the "Easy Off" button for our on/off switch idea. There is a switch on almost all the power strip, however, people still don't quite use it to save the empire power. The function of the "Easy Off" button we build is trying to remind people of the power saving while having fun playing with it. It only requires 28 days to build a habit. If the customers keep playing with it, even though when they get bored, they will still do it unconsciously.
The idea of "Easy Off" button is to connect this button with normal power strip. The button could be placed anywhere the customer want, such as on the desk, on the wall or on the door, where people could easily get access to it. The whole button is mechanical in this design. When a person presses the button, it says "On" on the little star showing below. When the day is off and people starting out, you press the button, the bar will rotate clock-wise over the center of the button and rotate by itself around the axis of the bar. The other side of the bar has an "OFF" sign on it.

The Mechanism of the Rotation
The rotation part of the button is like pushing in and out mechanism of a ballpen.

When the top part is pressed in, the bottom part will rotate accordingly. In the following figures, the black part is the bottom part, which will rotate 90 degrees while the top part is pressed in. With modification of the bottom part, it could rotate 180 degrees as expected.
