Microchip External Hard Drive Case: Rendering

Beginning with the pouch, the rendering of the pouch surface was given a finish that looks like a fabric, though it could work as leather. The metal parts would most likely be made out of aluminum for ease of manufacturing and low cost.

Pouch

In spirit of the MIT 150 celebration, the words "MIT - 150 Edition" are printed on the pouch along with "1861 - 2011" denoting MIT's years as well as "HERDD" acting in this case as a place holder for anything else that may be appropriate to be placed here.

The outer casing is given a shiny finish in this next rendering to portray a more futuristic and high-tech look, inviting the customer to explore the product in detail. The zipper is to be made out of nylon, which is easy to work with, can be stitched into fabrics and leather, or glued onto plastic, rubber or metal.

Finally, with the pouch inside a rubber or leather casing, the product would have a matte finish throughout with the pouch standing out as it is the only thing that has any words, and the metal parts help bring it to attention.
