A majority of subjects surveyed who said they used the self-checkout system complained of the super-sensitive bagging area. The weight sensitive bagging area is really unnecessary. There are issues of security, but having an attendant on duty at all times would alleviate some of those concerns. Also, if a shopper failed to scan an item, they would certainly get caught as they tried to leave the stores through the inventory control units.
