The video and audio instructions are very thorough and do an excellent job of walking an inexperienced self-checkout user through the entire process. However, the learning curve is relatively quick, and shoppers usually pick up the process after 2 or 3 trips to the supermarket. Shoppers that use self checkout like it because it is fast and efficient. Therefore, waiting for the computer to explain instructions that they already know can be frustrating. Adding an option to skip the audio version of the instructions would increase the efficiency of experienced self-checkout users.
