Walk in and have your resume critiqued for free as many times as you want! Attend the career counseling seminars that'll teach you about networking, job interviewing, and more. If you haven't had a real job interview before, go in for a mock interview.

Industry Contacts
Oftentimes, the best way to get connected is by combining various strategies. Ask professors who have taught you for company contacts. Ask upperclassmen to forward you emails for company internship opportunities that fall in your area of interest. Contact companies yourself, either through the business cards you've collected from networking or by submitting your resume to internship/job postings on comapany websites. Most biomedical/biotech companies are located either here in Massachusetts or in California. Below are links to company profiles to help you get started...

Merck Engineering & Technology Fellowship
 
The application deadline for the Merck Engineering & Technology Fellowship Program has been extended to December 10, 2009. Merck E&T Fellows receive a $5000 scholarship for the 2010-11 academic year and a paid summer internship during the summer of 2010 at a Merck manufacturing or research facility.

To apply, you must:
* Be a sophomore or junior this fall.
* Major in chemical, biological, or other engineering or science discipline.
* Be able to commit to a summer internship for a minimum of ten weeks at Merck during the summer of 2010.
* Have a minimum GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent.
* Submit a completed application packet, consisting of:
- Completed application form (see link below)
- Three letters of recommendation
- A current resume
- A current transcript
- A profile submitted online through the Merck website
