  • Please arrive in the meeting room 15 minutes before the session starts. The chair is responsible for running the session. Each session is a maximum of 108 minutes.
  • Speakers must use their own laptops for their talk. Encourage speakers arriving in the room ahead of the session to test their connection to the projector.The time needed to connect the computer and display their talk is counted in the speaking time.
  • Welcome the participants to the session at the beginning and remind speakers and participants that the DNP meeting adheres to the APS Code of Conduct, and they are to follow it throughout the meeting.
  • Talks in invited sessions are 36 minutes (30+6). Give 5-minute and 1-minute warnings for invited talks.
  • Lead talks in minisymposia are 36 minutes (30+6). (Minisymposia includes an invited talk and contributed talks.)
  • Contributed talks are 12 minutes (10+2). Give a 2-minute warning for contributed talks.
  • Keep the session on time to allow participants to move from session to session.
  • If a speaker is absent or an abstract is withdrawn, open discussion from a previous talk or amongst speakers may continue, but the session should be paused until the next talk.
  • Make sure speakers use the microphone provided for best sound quality.
