An essential, behind-the-scenes component of MITís campus operations and initiatives, the Finance & Administration group monitors and maintains technology, reporting, procurement, budgeting, and a broad range of other vital processes across the department.
Applications & Information Technology Services
The Applications & Information Technology Services team manages the computing environment for Facilities. This team purchases, installs, and maintains hardware and software, supporting staff across the department by troubleshooting and resolving technology issues.
Business Systems, Reporting & Analytics
The Business Systems, Reporting & Analytics team manages the development and maintenance of systems that drive the departmentís business functions, including coordination of SAP with MITís central IT department. The team also manages business reporting functions.
Capital Budgeting & Analysis
The Capital Budgeting & Analysis team ensures that MITís buildings contribute to campus sustainability and are able to support mission-critical education, research, and student life activities. The team works cooperatively with partners across the campus to create and implement programs of renovation, renewal, efficiency, and comprehensive care, guided by a collaborative assessment of needs and priorities. While maintaining a database of physical assets, the team also implements and manages studies and reports of buildings and systems, disseminates knowledge, and facilitates the scope and funding of specific projects. The team strives to enhance MITís physical structures and infrastructure, improve the functioning and efficiency of systems, advance sustainability, and ensure campus longevity.

Finance & Accounting oversees payroll, billing, accounts payable, and budgeting for operations, renovation, and construction programs.

Procurement, Contracts & Vendor Management
The Procurement, Contracts & Vendor Management team oversees the initiation of projects and administers complex project contracts generated in connection with campus construction, renovations, renewals, utilities, and more. The team researches and qualifies outside vendors, oversees and administers service contracts, and facilitates contract negotiations, working closely with MITís Office of General Counsel and the Insurance Office.
