Accounts Menu

$SumMIT's Accounts menu options are described below:

  • Account List
List accounts in the active account group (default = your authorized accounts). Make another account group active.

By double clicking on an account's line, you can run a $SumMIT account summary report. From an account summary, you can run $SumMIT forecast report.

Click on Preferences for some authorized account list, account summary, and forecast report options.

  • Object List
List all MIT object codes are their descriptions. (As of $SumMIT v4.0, you do not need to download object descriptions to your workstation.)
  • Lookup Account
For any MIT account, display its chart data. For one of your authorized accounts, display chart data and an account summary report. From an account summary, you can run $SumMIT account forecast report.

  • Rates
List table of MIT rates (employee benefits, overhead, etc.).

  • Group Forecast
Run $SumMIT forecast report on an account group. You select Preferences beforehand, the same as for forecast reports on a single account.

  • Account Groups
Define a new account group so that you can run $SumMIT reports on it (for example, an account group containing all your general accounts or all accounts for a supervisor); edit or delete existing account groups.

  • Refresh mm/yy
Refresh your list of authorized accounts to match the current month/year of financial data (if month/year of data was changed on General Ledger menu or Define Accounts Groups screen).

  • Custom Data
Enter custom budgets, commitments, and chart overrides for use in $SummIT forecast reports. $SumMIT custom data is saved on MITVMA so that it can be accessed by all users authorised to display data for an account.

  • Custom Reports
To date, this menu includes two custom reports (financial summary and financial summary rollup) developed for Information Systems. Both reports run on account groups and use custom monthly budgets.

  • QuickLook
For an account group you create and name "QuickLook", $SumMIT gathers some basic chart and financial data at startup. The QuickLook summary window displays this data. From the summary window, you can run additional QuickLook reports.

  • QuickGroup
Build "quickgroups" of authorized accounts using one or more selection criteria (parent account, sponsor code, effective and expiration dates, etc.). Run QuickLook and group forecast reports on them using buttons on the QuickGroup window.

  • Preferences
Select some authorized account list, account summary, and forecast report options.
