Ashdown House receives LEED-Gold certification
The new graduate residence hall, Ashdown House, received a LEED-Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a nationally recognized green building standard that awards building projects for sustainable design and performance. Overall Ashdown House was awarded 40 LEED points for optimizing a sustainable design, using no-toxic materials and incorporating innovative sustainable solutions. NW35 is the first LEED-Gold Building on campus. |
A world class institution like MIT deserves award-winning spaces. At MIT our buildings have won LEED certification as well as design awards. Facilities staff know that teaching and research are the lifeblood of MIT, so we provide the physical space and technical capabilities needed for MIT classrooms and laboratories, offices and living spaces for our students. We know that gathering places like dining areas and libraries draw members of the community together. Major projects and new buildings recently completed that enhance the life and learning at the Institute are listed below.
