Finding MIT, Building by Building
MIT maps are particularly important since the numbered building system can take a while to learn. Facilities maintains the geographic and building information displayed on the campus basemap, available as a PDF or an interactive version, as well as several specialty maps.
Accessibility on Campus
View the accessibility map (PDF) to find entrances on campus with ramps, power doors, accessible parking and other amenities that help to get around campus with ease.
Bicycling around Campus
Facilities Campus Planning & Design has composed an MIT bike map (PDF) to show bike routes, bike parking, and bike-accessible transit. The bike map helps bicyclists get around MIT and promotes bicycling as a commuting option.
Gardens and Courtyards at MIT
Facilities has created maps for semiannual garden tours, conducted by Grounds Services staff and sponsored by the MIT Activities Committee (MITAC). The summer tour (PDF) highlights trees and plantings along Memorial Drive. The autumn tour (PDF) reveals dozens of plant species from the northwest edge of campus to the Zesiger Sports and Fitness Center.
For information about MIT's small garden spaces, see the Pocket Garden web pages.
Underground MIT
Custodial Services hosts subterranean tours (PDF) of the campus network of tunnels. Explore underground MIT and find ways to avoid bad weather.
