Mosely's "Star Ball" and Kawamura's "Turbulence"

What: Star Ball & Turbulence
By: Jeannine Mosely, KAWAMURA Miyuki
From: Starball: Origami Tanteidan Convention No. 8
Turbulence: BOS Convention 2001 Autumn

Why: The printing company my mom's firm uses was getting rid of a bunch of lightweight cardstock in a couple of colors. To thank them for giving it to me rather than scrapping it all, I made them these two large sculptures from the card.

Both models are not particularly hard to fold, though each do require 30 modules, so no matter what it takes some time. Assembly is also not too hard, as modulars go, but Turbulence relies on the strength from the curved surfaces to hold itself together, so it doesn't actually stay together... until it's all together. I use paperclips to help hold it together. (Yep. The only person I know who can consistently put the model together with no mechanical aids is the creator herself!)
