The 2001 AUV Competition

We are developing the ORCA-IV for the 2001 AUVSI competition. The ORCA-IV will use a hydrophone array to find the angle to the acoustic transmitter on the target beacon and then retrieve the beacon with a mechanical gripper. This years competition will take place July 11-15, at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. More information about the 2001 competition can be found on the AUVSI web site.
