Scholarships

MIT SWE is dedicated to serving the entire community of MIT, one such way is through scholarships for current and incoming MIT students. Every year, MIT SWE provides scholarship opportunities, which add up to a grand total of $11500 this year!! One of them is open to all undergraduates in an engineering major (yes, you don't have to be a SWE member to be qualified). So what are you waiting for? Apply today!

1. Open to all MIT undergraduates in an engineering major:

Eligibility: All MIT undergraduates in an engineering major

Award Amount: (1) For $2000 distributed over your remaining years at MIT

Application: Please include the following documents:
- electronic copy (pdf) of resume
- electronic copy (pdf) of unofficial MIT transcript
- electronic copy (pdf) of essay
- hard copy of one recommendation letter

Essay Question: Pick an experience from your own life and explain how it has influenced your development.
Please note: Limit of 500 words.

Recommendation: Can be written by professor/supervisor/teacher
Please note: The recommendation must NOT be longer than two single spaced pages in size 12 font.

Deadline: All parts of the application must be received by 11.59 pm on October 17th, 2008.

Eligibility: Only for MIT undergraduates who are National SWE members

Award Amount: Two Awards (1) First Place Winner: $ 3000 distributed over your remaining years at MIT (2) Second Place Winner: $2000 distributed over your remaining years at MIT

All applicants for this scholarship will be automatically considered for the scholarship open to all MIT undergraduates.

Application: Please include the following documents:
