This is the second most common complaint. Often times when things do go wrong (i.e. - bagging issues, misrecognition of items, etc.) shoppers are left helpless at the checkout terminal until an attendent is available to come and reset the system. Attendants who deal specifically with self-checkout issues are usually stationed right next to the self checkout machines. However, there have been some occasions where there is no attendant on duty. Waiting for an attendant to see the flashing red light on top of the terminal sometimes becomes a bottleneck and defeats the whole idea of having self checkout.
