Finances

Finances can be the deciding factor for attending MIT, it can even influence pivotal aspects of your campus experience and long after graduation. Whether it be the exorbitant dorms prices that affect entire cultural spheres of campus, attitudes toward careers are narrated by money ahead.

Make no mistake MIT certainly makes a concerted effort to help First Generation/Low Income (FLI) Students,

MIT truly believes in admissions goal to recruit the world’s best and brightest to

Challenge the beliefs that may paint the “When there’s a will, there’s a way “

Pinch pennies

The priority is to put

look ahead at the chapters that encompasses

As per the style of H2GAMIT: much of the chapter will not be “sound financial advice” that would be peddled on online listicles or from your parents, http://www.ncua.gov/consumers/financial-literacy-resources

but a stratified array of all the opportunities, tangible funds, and that hopefully wont be hidden through hindsight

Rather respect that people that are capable utilizing calculated risks, know when to concede, and prioritize planning to minimize the setbacks that lie ahead.

It can be an entirely valid perspective to view higher education as a business negotiation,

many people don’t have to deal with the gravity of paying for college tuition, $79,000 a year? This is absurdly higher than the annual average income for

Research Studies/Clinical Trials[MM6]

most of these depend on the demographic that you are fine pushing for yourself (this is the part where Lying is ok!) some of the can be requirements are ridiculously strict, but some locations dont have an issue mending a few outliers if it helps get participants or to not "make the study look bad" (actual words)

Some of the disqualifying questions are very obvious but again whether you not lying = selectively truthful is on you.

Some studies will 'check if you are in other trials' but sometimes often it wont conflict, so they more so check within their own internal database.

Due to confidentiality studies/doctors dont know what the study is about outside of serialized non identifiable tags and most rely on self-snitching to weed you out.

Though dont get caught, you do not want to be known as a hypochondriac or "gaming the system"

Anyway those links (in no particular order, I wanted to do "by helpfulness" but again depends)

https://husp.sona-systems.com/Default.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2f

Harvard behavioral science lab, you can create an account and see what is available. Most of these are geared for 'healthy participants' and more so interviews and solving puzzles. Some of these have decent payout, you can totally lie and say you need money for transportation, and they'll give you some money($10-20) for basically free. Most of the big winners are the MRI/EEG scans 2-3 hours of work and screening forms but usually you can net $100-200 a visit. Though you will have to travel to Harvard for most, not far but if you are unfamiliar/dont have a bike rip you could get lost.

https://rally.massgeneralbrigham.org/

premier centralized resource for clinical trials, there are a lot of search features and when you click on a study, it often just tells you upfront the time investment, what they ask for you, and compensation. I found some good ones

https://www.bostontrials.com/#!/

this place has dope trials, pays a ton and they have pretty nice benefits (breakfast, lunch, and dinner, paid transportation) This is where I found the $375 a day one, there was an even higher paying $1,850 trial I really wish I could take if it didnt cause so much collateral damage, as mentioned.

https://www.massgeneral.org/research/clinical-trials

I havent used it but seems similar to rally so it has my support.

https://boston.craigslist.org/search/etc#search=1~thumb~0~0

Ok you can find some weird ass studies by actual hospitals but it has my recommendation, there was one sleep study that was going to pay $3,960 but 'too honest'

https://cctr.mit.edu/research-studies

https://agelab.mit.edu/get-involved/volunteer

Ok actual MIT things, these are lame but ig convenient

https://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/bcs_subjects

^this is the official mailing list if you want to be notified when better call saul becomes a CMS subject, Jk if its you want to be notified for a research study

Sort of same thing MRI scans pay a lot but tbh dont put up with any of the dinky amazon gift card ones. It is important to have a personal policy of how much youd like to be paid, for me I am entitled and wont take anything below $25 an hour or for volunteering for a project I really like/want to contribute towards.

Similar to the Harvard Psych Research site but idk I have had hit or miss experiences. again the money ones are MRIs/CTs/EEGs but refer towards the previous statement about my thoughts
