Living @ CRI


The CRI Residence is located within the gated campus of the Chulabhorn Research Institute in the Lak si district of Bangkok, Thailand

The residence is managed by the Ramada Inn and features hotel-style apartments equipped with private bathroom, living room, bedroom, cable television, telephone, wireless internet, refrigerator, and kitchenette.

Facilities, services, transportation and meals

  • Facilities/Services – provided free of charge
    • Front Desk staffed 24/7.
    • Daily linen & towel service.
    • Self service laundry room.
    • Swimming pool.
    • Fitness center, with trainer.
    • Thai-ROP common room, with kitchen, dining, living room and bathroom. Internet access, cable television, library, and office supplies/equipment are also provided.
  •  Transportation Services
    • Driver & van provided by CRI, at no charge, for evening and weekend transport from CRI to/from Sky Train or subway.
    • Van transportation to other locations in the Bangkok area may also be available, at the request of the Thai-ROP coordinator.
    • Cabs and other travel arrangements may be arranged at the Residence Front Desk, at your own expense. 
  • Meals
    • A ThaiROP lounge with kitchen and dining facilities is provided for use by members of the ThaiROP  program.
    • CRI Residence Dining Hall is open daily for breakfast, at no charge.
    • CRI Cafeteria is open for lunch on weekdays. CRI will provide ThaiROP students with meal vouchers to cover the cost of lunch.
    • Snacks and meals may be ordered from the Ramada Inn menu provided within the Thai-ROP lounge.
    • Take out food may be ordered at the CRI Residence desk.
    • IT Square has a number of restaurants and it is a short walk from CRI 
    • Bangkok is full of street vendors selling inexpensive, delicious and often spicy food. 

Important:

Use good judgment in deciding whether or not to sample street food. Some 

visitors are very susceptible to contracting food born illnesses from street vendor food.
