APO maintains a ride board, a map of the United States and Canada on which the MIT community can post notices to share rides and to reduce travel expenses. It is currently located outside the exit of Lobdell Dining Hall on the second floor of the Student Center.
The United States and Canada are subdivided into several color-coded, numbered regions. For each region, there are two slots: one for ``Rides Offered'' and one for ``Rides Needed''. If either end of your trip is the metropolitan Boston area, you would only need to use the box for the other endpoint. For example, if you are travelling between Cambridge and Los Angeles, you would only need to search the box ``2. South-West'' and not ``7. Massachusetts''. If your trip is neither to nor from Boston but, say, Worcester, you might want to search the box ``7. Massachusetts'' also.
Once you are sure you have written down all the relevant information, place the card in an appropriate slot. Below are some sample cards.
