Centre de Ressources Historiques
de l'Ecole Polytechnique

When we visited Ecole Polytechnique, we visited the library, which included a tour of an exhibit of various scientific objects used at Polytechnique or invented by famous alums and professors of the école, such as Foucault, Faraday, and Gay-Lussac, to name a few. It was interesting that the students of Polytechnique who came with us had never seen the collection themselves either. All the shiny contraptions we saw seemed like they came out of a mad scientist’s lab, and not from a laboratory like those we all are familiar with today.
