Musée Rodin

On our last day in Paris, Ting Ting and I visited Musée Rodin, a museum that is solely dedicated to the sculptor Auguste Rodin. The museum is situated in the beautiful Hôtel Biron. Although the garden surrounding the building was closed for the day, we still got to see Le Penseur (the Thinker) and glimpse La Porte de l’Enfer (the Gate of Hell). The permanent collection featured such sculptures as Le Baiser (the Kiss), La Cathédrale (the Cathedral), La Valse (the Waltz), and many others. It was amazing to see all these sculptures so close. One of our favorites was the Hand of God. Not only is it beautifully carved, but also the idea of God as the sculptor conveys a powerful image.
