The SMA Alumni Club was first set up in 2000 to promote network building and community spirit, and continues to make its mark with the help of its class agents, alumni who volunteer to be the contact point of their former classmates. To date, the Club has been able to keep in touch with up to 25% of its 900 alumni.

Under the leadership of the 9th Management Committee, the SMA Alumni Club has enjoyed a fun-packed year. The Club has organised a wide range of activities ranging from sports and education to social activities. In July 2009, the Bowling Tournament and welcome buffet dinner saw a turnout of over 90 members. In February 2010, the Club invited Mr Tony Boatman, who is affiliated with former US Vice President Al Gore's "The Climate Project", to address the topic of global climate change. The goal of this inaugural forum was to raise awareness and encourage individuals to become part of the solution to this environmental problem. The highlight of the year was the Dinner and Dance held at the rustic Brazil Churrasco in Gillman Village. The event was graced by SMA Co-Director, Prof Hardy Chan and Dr John Desforge from MIT. Also in attendance were Prof Yoon Soon Fatt (Deputy Co-Director), Prof Choi Wee Kiong (AMM&NS Programme Co-Chair) and Prof Yue Chee Yoon (MST Programme Co-Chair). Their presence signalled the sincere intent of both SMA Offices to stay connected to their alumni.

The SMA Alumni Club would like to offer its heartfelt thanks to the unwavering support of its alumni. We will continue to develop and cultivate alumni relations among students.
