Lucy Du
Hi! I’m Lucy, and I am first-year Master’s student in Mechanical Engineering. I received my Bachelor’s from MIT in 2014. I work in the Precision Compliant Systems Lab focusing on the precision positioning for awake-mouse in vivo skull and brain imaging. I absolutely love traveling, as well as photography, drawing and painting, and most of all eating. I am originally from around Detroit, Michigan. Looking forward to meeting everyone this summer! Maha Haji
Hi! My name is Maha and I was part of the WTP-ME 2006 class and I am very excited to be returning this summer as an instructor! I am currently a third-year PhD candidate in mechanical engineering in a joint program between MIT and the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute. I received my Master’s from MIT in 2015 and my Bachelor’s from the University of California, Berkeley in mechanical engineering and applied math in 2012. I am currently a member of the Precision Engineering Research Group, focusing on the design and prototyping of a symbiotic system to harvest uranium from seawater in a way that is cost-effective and environmentally friendly.

Originally from South Florida, my favorite hobbies surround the ocean: swimming, surfing, and scuba diving. I also enjoy traveling and exploring the outdoors. So far, I have had the opportunity to travel to thirteen countries and I hope to continue checking more off the list! I am very much looking forward to meeting you all this summer!

Larissa Nietner
Hello! I’m a third-year graduate student in the Mechanical Engineering department. During my Master’s, I worked on production processes and machines for printed electronics. - What if we could make flexible displays or photovoltaics at a much lower cost? I came to MIT for grad school. Before, I lived in Europe, mostly Germany, where I received my Bachelor’s degree in 2012. During my free time I enjoy travelling, crafting, water sports in the summer and snow sports in winter. I am very excited to be part of WTP this summer, and I am so looking forward to meeting all of you! We will have such a fun time.

Hello. I just graduated from Mechanical Engineering with a focus on (1) women's and gender studies and (2) leadership development. I'm from Atlanta and love going home to my parents' farm. In my free time, I love vegetarian cooking, running, yoga, and reading. I can't wait to have an awesome summer with all of you!

Sarah Fay
Hi! I'm a graduating senior in Mechanical Engineering. Next year, I will still be at MIT studying MechE, but now as a graduate student! My focus so far has been in fluid flow, but I love many other engineering topics as well.Outside of the classroom, I competed both on the field hockey and squash teams for MIT, and I'm an active member of my sorority. Almost five years ago now, I was a WTP-EECS student, and two years ago, I was a residential tutor for the ME track. I am back again and am really excited to share Boston and MIT with you for the summer!

Ana Lo
Hi! My name is Ana. I am a sophomore in mechanical engineering with a focus in product design. I was born and raised in Stamford, CT but am a huge Boston fan. I am part of ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) here at MIT as well as Active Minds (a mental health advocacy group on campus). I love going on adventures and trying new things so hit me up if you have any fun ideas for weekend activities! Some hobbies of mine include skiing, dancing, and reading (mostly scifi or fantasy). I did WTP-EECS when I was in high school and had the most amazing time (but realized that mechanical engineering was way cooler ;) ). I look forward to meet all of you; prepare yourselves for a wonderful month!!

Hey everyone! I'm a junior studying Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Product Development. I'm on the women's open weight crew team here at MIT, and I also love yoga, running, board games, and arts & crafts. Last summer, I helped build an MITx course for freshman physics students and gathered materials for a seminar on probability. I'm excited to learn more about teaching and learning with all of you this summer at WTP. MIT and Boston are wonderful places to explore in the summertime, and I can't wait to share them with you!

Hello all! I’m a freshman planning on majoring in Mechanical Engineering and minoring in Biology. Even though I grew up in the St. Louis Area, I already consider Boston as my second home. During the year when I’m not studying for tests or doing problem sets, you’ll probably find me playing volleyball for the MIT club team, doing some art project, practicing for quiz bowl, or taking photos. As a WTP-ME alumna, I very excited to be returning and helping all of you explore Mechanical Engineering! I can’t wait to meet all of you this summer!
